Meet the Barber’s
The following is a letter received last month on the occasion of the graduation of the youngest child of the Barber family. It is reprinted with permission and gratitude.
Dear Mrs. Jacques,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for all of your years of leadership running the Cambridge and KW Kindermusik studios. Will’s ‘graduation’ from Kindermusik marks the end of an era for the Barber family… fourteen consecutive years of Kindermusik!
Each of our children have benefited greatly from their introduction to music at an early age.
Upon completing Kindermusik, Sydney went on to study piano for several years and, at the age of 18, is finishing up her years as a competitive dancer this summer.
Curtis went on to sing in the K-W Philharmonic Children`s Choir, learned to play guitar and is now in his second year studying the cello.
After completing the Recorder-Orff program at your studio, Cameron began private clarinet lessons and has since moved on to the saxophone. After competing the Kiwanis Music Festival this year, Cameron was invited to perform at the finale concert at Maureen Forrester Hall and was awarded a $150 scholarship.
Will has thoroughly enjoyed his years at Kindermusik and is looking forward to joining the `Singer`s Theatre` in Waterloo this fall.
It is with heavy hearts that we finish up our time spent here at Kindermusik. We feel very fortunate for the opportunity to enjoy many fun years of learning and to be inspired by music. This inspiration will last our family a lifetime. Thanks so much for your role in our Kindermusik experience!
Our very best always,
The Barbers–Jill, Greg, Sydney, Curtis, Cameron & Will
